Charge:

  • Develop a plan to work with and get advice from users of THO products and services, including particularly TexasHeritageOnline.org. Core user groups include:
    • Teachers in Texas public and private elementary, middle, and high schools, particularly those teaching social studies and history.
    • Students in Texas public and private elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as students being home-schooled.
    • Faculty in institutions of higher education, particularly those teaching in the area of history and social studies and those with research interests in Texas history, politics, and culture.
    • Librarians, archivists, museum professionals, and officials and employees of state and local governments.
    • Genealogists and other researchers of Texas or family history.
  • With input from representatives of the above user groups, develop a set of desireable outcomes for various users with respect to THO products and services, including particularly TexasHeritageOnline.org.
  • Recommend strategy to assess outcomes for THO members and users of TexasHeritageOnline.org on a regular basis.
  • Identify and maintain a list of resources relating to outcome-based assessment for digitization initiatives.
  • Regularly evaluate progress of committee, identify improvements needed in committee processes and products, and adjust plans as needed.
